FRESH.GLASS delves into the tactile, emotional, and visual dimensions of glass for its OIOIIO luminaire collection. The team’s exploration began with perceiving hand-cast glass as a substance, architectural element, sculpture, and object, manifesting itself as a series of modular sconce lamps made of recycled glass chips and satin stainless steel with kiln casting and matte, velvety texture. The soft geometry of the nine modules in the line, each called OIO, invite endless possibilities and enable users to craft simple and minimalist compositions. With various shapes, the lamps can stand alone or interlock, forming lines or intricate shapes that adapt to diverse spatial configurations.

oioiio lamps cast dynamic refractions through glass shards

By day, the OIOIIO lamps serve dual purposes as both interior elements and wall sculptures. When sunlight refracts through the glass and casts reflections, a clandestine world of frosted glass assembled as a mosaic of pieces is revealed. Devising the concept of the series, FRESH.GLASS studio looked back to a small art glass workshop in Moscow driven by waste-free production. The journey from concept to creation mirrors the unpredictable nature of artistic exploration — tests, samples, prototypes, and countless attempts to achieve desired results. During this work process, a large number of glass scraps remained, which subsequently become the basis for creating each OlO lamp.
