kartell by LAUFEN presents extended and eclectic bathroom collection

flexibility and fluidity form the design language of the expanded bathroom collection of kartell by LAUFEN. following its original debut in 2013, the 2021 collection speaks of a contemporary ambience further enhanced by a variety of finishes, colors and geometric lines. this system of sanitaryware, washstands and bathtubs all becomes complete with the inclusion of décor elements, shelves, mirrors and more furnishing features that give endless possibilities of composition. this versatility is pictured by fashion photographer hugo comte and still-life photographer oliver helbig, who, in their own unique ways, capture the multi-faceted character of the designs.

for their extended family, LAUFEN and kartell decide to give two completely different visual interpretations: one by the belgian fashion photographer hugo comte who has captured dreamy atmospheres for world renowned designers like burberry, valentino, vivienne westood, fendi and many more; the other by the german still-life photographer oliver helbig whose work blurs the boundaries between nature, architecture and his portraits. while helbig paints an inanimate, cinematic and almost metaphorical picture, comte decomposes the pieces and creates a playful and improvised scene; where helbig plays with light and color to feature abstraction and form, comte focuses on people and movement. both visions show the designs in an ever-shifting, light and dynamic setting.

kartell by LAUFEN creates a range of relationships, one being the juxtaposition between the ceramic sanitaryware, washstands and bathtubs, and the plastic furniture and accessory components. this relationship is emphasized by the fresh hues of mustard yellow, olive green and powder blue of the plastic, and the glossy or matte finishes of the ceramics in white, gray or black shades. the contrast continues with the transparent elements like the boxy toothbrush holder and the sound rack shelving system, adding lightness to the solidness of the ceramic. each furniture piece within the collection, like the cabinets, drawers and shelves, can be arranged and combined in various ways signifying the fluidity of the space thus allowing greater design freedom.

the bathroom fixtures add their own softening touch to the ample ceramic surfaces where their minimal and slim curves highlight the linearity of the concept and create a serene environment for well-being. this attention to detail is important to the collection as faucets and mixers offer even more choice to the overall design. they are available in brushed stainless steel and chromium-plated finishes and regarding installation, in column and built-in versions.
