at istituto marangoni milano · the school of design’s creative center in milan’s durini design district, an exhibition for alessi – under the artistic direction of nendo – proposes new designs focused on reuse. titled ‘enriching sustainability’, the work of students of the master in product & furniture design aims to not throw away the progress of reducing single-use plastic in the face of the covid-19 pandemic. products were designed based on the assumption that a thoughtful reuse needs to be supported by a strong narrative. as such, designs were created as functional and storylike tools, all in line with the alessi identity. results on show distinguish a series of hybrid objects that explore new scenarios, reconsider consumer goods, and adds values to daily routines and domestic landscapes.
